PAPER PRESENTATIONS

2:45 - 4:00 pm
- Bring 25-40 copies of materials (include information on how attendees can contact you for a copy of your full paper). Copy services will NOT be available at the hotel.
- Presenters will be allocated 15 or 20 minutes as part of a 75-minute session (the acceptance email will confirm the amount of time)
- Arrive on time (at the chair's discretion, the time may be re-allocated among the presenters in attendance if a presenter is not in the room at 2:45)
- A computer, LCD projector, and screen will be provided.
All presenters and co-presenters must pay the registration fee.
What does a paper session look like? Paper sessions will include three or four paper presentations. A chair will welcome the audience, coordinate the session, and keep time. Each presenter will have approximately 15-20 minutes to present and discuss the key points of his or her work. Although a presenter may opt to take questions during this time, at the end of the initial 15-20 minutes the presenter will cede the floor to the next presenter. Once all presenters have spoken, a discussant may provide a brief response to what he or she has heard. The chair will then facilitate an open question-and-answer period. Presenters should have a synopsis available for distribution during the session that includes an email address through which an attendee may obtain an electronic copy of the full paper. Presenters may supplement their presentations with visual aids illustrating key points.
POSTER PRESENTATIONS
Friday, September 11, 2009
4:00 - 5:00 pm (in conjunction with an ice-cream social)
- Presenters should pre-mount their poster on a presenter-supplied poster board.
- The poster’s text should be large enough to read easily from 4 to 5 feet away. Maximum size is 36" x 60."
- Presenters must supply their own poster board, pins/tape/glue.
- Easels will be provided.
All presenters and co-presenters must pay the registration fee.
What does a poster session look like? The posters will be on view throughout the conference. During the scheduled 60-minute poster session, poster presenters stand beside their posters and discuss their work one-on-one or in small groups with attendees. Most attendees meander through the posters, stopping to review or discuss those that pique their interest. Many poster presenters supplement their posters with a handout that summarizes their work and provides contact information for further follow-up.
