WORKSHOP ABSTRACT
In the past 25 years, the social sciences and public health research have greatly expanded our knowledge of effective interventions designed to improve the health and well-being of individuals, families, schools, workplaces, organizations and institutions, and communities. And yet, practices in schools, clinics, hospitals, workplaces, prisons, therapeutic settings, social services, and heath care facilities have only partially taken advantage of this knowledge. This gap comes as a result of the failure of two processes – ineffective dissemination of knowledge and incomplete implementation of interventions. This workshop will discuss these issues, and will present challenges and opportunities for studying these processes and evaluating their effectiveness.
