A hands-on training to make data visualizations in Microsoft Excel.

This 3-hour workshop will be co-led by Sena Pierce, Kamakana Aquino, and Carla Hostetter. The purpose of the workshop is to learn how to make graphs in Microsoft Excel which follow graphic design principles so that you can make graphs that help your audience notice, and make sense of your data.
By the end of the workshop participants will:
- Understand general principles of design relevant to data visualizations (graphs and charts);
- Know which chart or graph to use for different types of data;
- Know how to build and design graphs in Microsoft Excel that show a) change over time, b) opinion scales, and c) pre/post data; and
- Know how to integrate Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint to develop reports.
Sample data will be provided. Participants are asked to bring their own laptops and chargers. See attached flyer for more details.
